Social search and why it matters

The new democracy of social search

As we discussed, links have long been the currency of search engines. If you want your page to rate higher on Google, you need more links. These links however, no longer just come from blogs and website, but also from social media.

Search engines are now determining relevancy from both social media and web links. Facebook and Twitter have not been the most generous on providing data to the search engines however since they want to control this valuable data.
